Alumni Association Scholarship
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Alumni Association
Scholarship fund at PA College. Created with the support of Alumni Association dues,
and in the years since, increased with hundreds of additional contributions from generous
graduates, the scholarship fund has continued supporting more and more deserving students.
Each year, at least four Alumni Association scholarships are awarded, representing the
following categories: a nursing student, a health sciences student, a student enrolled in any
PA College degree program, and a prior graduate of PA College who is now continuing
their education toward an additional degree.
" PA College alumni know firsthand the challenges and rewards of a PA College education
and want to help today's students follow in our footsteps. Just as many of us were able
to achieve our dreams with the aid of a scholarship, we support the Alumni Association
Scholarship to help lessen the financial hurdles students may face on their way to a career
in health care, " says Alumni Association President Tina Martin '86, DNP, RN, NE-BC.
I am grateful to have been a recipient of the
Alumni Association Scholarship. It showed
me that the alumni of PA College are investing
in current students and making sure that
their financial needs are met so that they can
focus on their educations and achieve their
goals. This special scholarship also made my
resume stand out for potential employers.

I am honored to have received the Alumni
Association Scholarship, which feels like
an affirmation that I am doing the right
thing and makes my education possible. I
am thankful that I have the opportunity
to be the first in my family to earn a college
degree. As a non-traditional age student,
who aspires to go to medical school, I also
hope that I inspire my siblings with my
example. Not so long ago, I didn't think it
was possible, but now it seems within
my reach.

From my beginning days as a nursing
student, it was evident to me that the
field of nursing was a community of
support. Becoming a nurse has always
been a goal and dream of mine. It's
humbling to recognize that alumni who
have succeeded before me were generous
enough to contribute to my success as well.
