What excites you most about the upcoming merger
of PA College into Saint Joseph's University?
Two presidents weigh in.

Saint Joseph's University
Saint Joseph's University will be a wonderful steward
of the programs we've built over the past decades,
preserving and expanding our legacy of excellence
in nursing and allied health science education.
Our students will have the best of both worlds
- a continuation of student-centered health care
education in their own backyard and exciting new
opportunities in Philadelphia and beyond. Being
part of a larger university will bring new resources
and new ideas to the programs we offer in Lancaster,
enabling them to continue evolving and growing.
I can't help but think how amazed the founders
of Lancaster General Hospital, who launched the
School of Nursing only ten years after the hospital
opened, would be by all we have achieved in the
past 120 years and all that will come from this next
exciting chapter in our evolution!
It has long been our plan to expand Saint Joseph's
health care portfolio and I couldn't think of a better
partner to fulfill that vision than Pennsylvania
College of Health Sciences - a community of
students, alumni, faculty and staff who employ
their education for the greater good of the
neighborhoods and regions they serve. Through the
merger of our two great institutions, I look forward
to extending the impact of PA College's in-demand
nursing and allied health programs from Central
Pennsylvania to the greater Philadelphia area and
beyond, educating the leaders of tomorrow while
growing the regional health care workforce. As a
proud, first-generation college graduate, I am also
honored to steward PA College's legacy of educating
countless first-generation college students,
continuing the history of building individuals who
have the Jesuit values of ethical decision-making,
contemplation in action and service with and for
others.
