Bandon Dunes added to its world-renowned selection of
courses with its new Sheep Ranch course. Now there are
five ways to enjoy the Oregon coastline while playing golf. And
in Conroe TX, the new Margaritaville Resort comes with an
18-hole Championship course. Jimmy Buffet's entire 369 tunes
songbook wafts through the grounds, including famous titles
such as "Let's Get Drunk and Screw," and "The Asshole Song."
Check them out wherever you get your music.
From the ridiculous to the sublime, the Oak Hill Bible Fellowship purchased the Golf Club Of Dallas, with plans to keep
it a golf course. If successful, the rest of you might have to
consider getting help from above too. And 33 members bought
the land under the best name ever for a golf facility: Out Door
Country Club, in York PA. A million-dollar investment will
include new patio furniture so members can, you know, better
enjoy the outdoors.

Last month we reported on how the City of Dayton OH
lopped off 72 holes in one fell swoop. Correction to Jim Koppenhaver's article last month, he incorrectly said they closed
90 of 108 holes, it was "only" 72! Now another 27 holes at
a Dayton-area course gets tripped over the edge by COVID,
Cliffside GC in Tripp City (sorry, the play on words is just too
easy). Chisel Creek GC in New Jersey closed to make way for
a new craft beer brewery. Unless they plan to grow their own
hops, does a brewery really need all the acreage of an 18-hole
Championship course?
Finally, the Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort in Blairsville PA
is up for auction. Thirty-six holes. Owners since 2008 think
better marketing and smart improvements will lead to much
higher revenue for new owners. They just don't want to do it
themselves. Prospective owners might want to consult with the
new owners of the Golf Club of Dallas.
