Nowhere will additional and better research be more
necessary than to track the surge in golf interest in 2020 and
our efforts to sustain that interest going forward.

Did we match the rounds increase for our market in
2020?
How many " new " customers did we attract last year?
(Those that did not play in at least 2019 or better yet
2018 as well)
Monitor how many of those new customers come back
in 2021
Track rounds in 2021 on a " weather neutral " basis
against 2020 for both your course and your market.
Compare Revenue with 2020 - Overall, by Round
Played and by Available Rounds

Compare Revenue and Transactions by Hour (should
be broken down by Day of Week in addition to
Monthly) for 2020 and 2021
If we take those steps in 2021, the amount of Kentucky
Windage will be reduced for business decisions going forward. If we share some of those results in a secure, impartial
and anonymous way, we will also be able to create a framework
that will better measure the impact of other industry decisions
regarding distance and whether gambling helps create new interest. It will also expand our knowledge base to evaluate other
golf programs and initiatives as well.
Newton upset a lot of established academics at the Royal
Society in 1686, but all he did was expand the world's understanding of gravity. I doubt Daniel Boone or Simon Kenton
read Newton, but their innate understanding of gravity only
enhanced their calculations of windage and made an enduring
contribution to American vernacular, even if it should have been
Pennsylvania Windage.
