Looking at demand for July as reported by Golf Datatech, we saw
a 2nd consecutive month of gains as reported rounds registered
+3% vs. Year Ago (YA). This continues to improve the Year-toDate
(YtD) results which strengthened to -4% vs. last month's
-6% level. For the YtD period, the deficit is relatively evenly
spread between Public and Private. That leads us to the monthly
question of " How much of the increase was due to weather vs.
changes in golfer engagement? " For the answer, we'll need to
look at the month via Pellucid's unique view of Utilization.

For reference, Utilization and Point Change vs. Year Ago (YA)
tracks rounds demand after factoring for weather.
The comparative
benchmark is the Year End (YE) '21 value of 59%.
For those not familiar with Pellucid's Weather Impact tracking,
the underlying concept is relatively simple. In a theoretical
world where rounds follow weather, a 5% increase in Available
Rounds would produce a 5% gain in Played Rounds. By comparing
Played Rounds to Available Rounds, we can determine
the weather-neutral performance of the average facility and
how it's changing during the year vs. the benchmark.
The July results are encouraging as we notched our 2nd
month of demand not following weather and breaking out to
the upside with a 4-point gain in Utilization. That improves
the YtD result to +2 points and 64% Utilization which remains
well-elevated from our pre-COVID trading range of 50-55%.
The June-July Utilization results show that golfer demand and
well-executed customer relationship management can drive demand
independent of weather impact. Now we just have to
figure out how to do it consistently and persistently. As shown
in the nearby graphic, the Utilization gain for July represents
our 5th consecutive month of gain on this key metric.
