* Denver - Off to a terrible start to 2023, Denver should
make up all their lost ground and then some to finish
June up over 10% YTD
* San Francisco - Also off to a bad start with rain and
cold. The Bay area will also rebound and get back in
positive territory in a big way. Some might forget, but
May and June were really bad in 2022
* Washington DC/Northern VA - Off to a fast start in
2023. The increase will moderate in May and June; but
they should remain in positive territory. This should be a
nice rebound - their 2022 weather was particularly bad
* Boston - Our New England clients report a good
start to 2023. Based on the forecast, they should stay in
positive territory through June

Minneapolis (12) - Early 2022 was downright cruel
in the Twin Cities. 2023 was up big through the end
of April. In case they forgot, May and June were also
terrible in 2022. By the end of June; Minneapolis
will be the winner in terms of better weather of all 10
markets we looked at
* Portland - As with other West Coast markets, Portland
has had a tough start to 2023. There will be a slight
improvement in May and June; but not enough to offset
the bad start. They are the only market targeted for
negative weather impact through June
* New York - A great start for the most populous market
in the US. They will have only a modest bump in May
and June, but will still be up over 9% at the end of June
* Columbus - Jack Nicklaus' hometown is off to a
fine start in 2023. However, the May/June forecast is
virtually identical to 2022. They should still end June up
almost 9% over 2022
* Detroit - A great start to 2023 for the Motor City.
We have quite a few Wolverine and Spartan GMRC
participants who universally suffered through the
miserable opening months of 2022. The great start and
a decent May/June forecast should make them double
digit happy
* Chicago - Jim Koppenhaver's hometown is off to
a very strong start, too. They shared a pitiful 2022
early season with their Midwestern compatriots in
Minneapolis and Detroit. The May/June forecast is also
up double digits and they should finish the first half of
the year with a solid gain.
In addition to these 10 specific seasonal markets; we have also
reviewed forecasts from larger full season areas (Houston, Phoenix,
San Diego, etc) which also indicate improved weather for
