he energy Internet (eI), an Interlocked
combination of energy systems and the
Internet, is an emerging concept
that embodies the contours of
the next-generation energy
system. the eI is a new energy ecosystem with better interconnectedness,
openness, and flexibility, aiming to
accommodate deep-penetration,
clean energies; improve energy
efficiency; and create a novel
sharing economy to signifi cantly reduce the cost of
energy consumption.
the eI concept has become a hot topic in recent
years, especially in china,
which is facing several challenges in energy production
and consumption reform. For
example, the use of nonfossil-fuel energy could reach 20% by 2030
and renewable generation may account for 80% of the country's energy
by 2050.
however, 70% of electric power in china is
still generated by fossil-fuel-fired power plants,
and large-scale curtailment of renewable generation
