3,600-W base uses solar cells to
charge the PBKs, which can generate
enough power to light rooms for several days. The unit has ac and dc outputs that can charge cellphones and

power systems for homes and offices
throughout Kwara and for nearby
villages. Salihu is a leading solar
power engineer in the country and
has more than 30 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering. He is an advocate for sustainable community development.
Salihu is the representative for
IEEE PES in Africa, the former chair
of the IEEE Nigeria Section, and a
Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of
Power Engineers.
