System-Power Management
The power management system is responsible for short-term
and day-ahead load forecasting and real-time power scheduling. All these processes require information on the total power
consumed by the distribution system and at all individual
exchange points. The integration with the ADMS is intended
to exchange analog data from these kinds of exchange points.
The ADMS also shares these data with the Delhi State Transmission Load Dispatch Center. If Tata Power DDL overdraws
more than its permissible amount of power from the grid, it
may be requested to curtail load to stabilize the power system.
If load curtailment is required, then this information is sent to
the ADMS, which curtails the load and returns information
on the amount of actual load shed back to the power management system.

Advanced Distribution Management System-
Meter Data Management System
The MDMS is a platform that manages and controls the data
and signals of the smart meters. The MDMS also has a built-in
function of validating, estimating, and editing. Data in the
MDMS can be stored for a long time and analyzed later.

Additionally, these data can also be stored and used to analyze and verify meter data to improve the quality of meter
reading and billing. The deployment of smart meters is continuous, and the process includes interfaces with the ADMS.
These interfaces will allow the ADMS to obtain meter data
by interrogating the MDMS. The ADMS user can request
readings from any meter on the network and display its data
on demand in the ADMS network diagram. Users can also
define schedules for the ADMS to automatically interrogate
the MDMS for specific data. The received data are stored
in the analog points (the SCADA system). These data can
also be used by other advanced ADMS applications, such
as distribution power flow. They can also be used to activate
demand response.

System-Battery Energy Storage Solutions
The ADMS is also integrated with a BESS, which controls
a 10-MW battery (or four 2.5-MW batteries). The BESS
sends the monitoring parameters of all cores and arrays
(for example, active power, reactive power, charging capability, discharging capability, and state of charge) to the
ADMS. These data help to improve power scheduling by
charging or discharging the BESS in support of operating
needs. The distribution operator is also planning to control the BESS through the ADMS for accomplishing more
effective results.
