sector. it does not begin to fully cover
the spectrum of ongoing activities,
nor does it begin to present comprehensive assessments or recommendations. What it does do is provide a
broad overview of some ongoing planning and assessment activities in the
european union, the united States,
and South america and some examples of "real" activities and technical
possibilities.

NR Electric HVDC SuperConTM System

for World First Five-Terminal VSC-HVDC Transmission Project
In July 2014, NR Electric had conducted the commissioning of world first
five-terminal VSC-HVDC, ±200kV Zhoushan VSC-HVDC transmission project.
This project establishes a critical interconnection between mainland and five
isolated islands, raises electric power supply and enhances grid reliability by
total 1000MW capacity.
NR Electric, a power stability expert, contributes to the project with its innovative
HVDC SuperConTM system, including system study, design, manufacturing and
commissioning of IGBT-based valves, DC electronic CTs/VTs, control and
protection system.
