facilitadores clave para aplicaciones del ADMS a futuro:
una estructura de control adecuada, conceptos de toma de
decisiones basadas en la inteligencia y la calidad y una consistencia en los datos.

Estructura de control adecuada
A menudo es deseable tener una estructura de control en
la que la operación de todo el sistema de distribución sea
gestionada de manera centralizada, brindando al operador
una vista completa de la red. Sin embargo, el gran tamaño
de los sistemas de distribución típicos hace que esta sea una
ardua tarea debido a la carga computacional y al requerimiento de una infraestructura adecuada de tecnología de
información y comunicación para conectar el ADMS con
los clientes y los activos de la red. Dependiendo de la aplicación del ADMS, el nivel de complejidad en el modelado del
sistema de distribución puede ser completamente diferente.
Desde la perspectiva del operador del sistema de transmisión, el interés principal es el comportamiento en la interfaz
de transmisión/distribución (p. ej., que requiere un factor
de potencia específico), y puede ser suficiente para obtener
solo información agregada en las correspondientes subestaciones. Cuando se trata de FED conectadas a MT, como la
gestión activa de un parque FV, es posible que no sea necesario considerar a cada cliente individual conectado a BT.
En tales casos, puede ser suficiente considerar solamente la
red de MT, la cual es significativamente más simple que un
modelo integrado de MT y BT.
La estructura jerárquica (basada en diferentes niveles de
tensión) de los sistemas de potencia puede ser explotada para
abordar los desafíos de escalabilidad de una estructura completamente centralizada. En lugar de considerar el sistema
de distribución entero en un solo modelo, en un futuro cercano, es probable que las aplicaciones del ADMS adopten
una estructura jerárquica. Todo el sistema de distribución
puede ser dividido en múltiples subsistemas que desacoplan

el problema original (p. ej., al separar el problema en las
interfaces entre diferentes niveles de tensión y/o al crear
múltiples zonas dentro del mismo nivel de tensión). Debido a
que esta estructura de control implica ciertas suposiciones en
las interfaces de estos subsistemas recientemente definidos,
se requerirá un proceso para verificar la validez de las suposiciones y los puntos de ajuste óptimos a lo largo de todos
los subsistemas.
Aunque una estructura jerárquica ofrece mejoras de
escalabilidad sobre una totalmente centralizada, todavía
comparten características similares porque la operación de
cada subsistema todavía se gestiona de manera centralizada.
Como consecuencia, aparte del requerimiento computacional, ambas estructuras se ven afectadas por un punto de falla
único, particularmente si esto sucede en la sala de control
(dentro del ADMS). Con el creciente conocimiento sobre
privacidad de datos, los clientes pueden no desear compartir
sus datos (que son cruciales en una estructura centralizada)
con otra entidad; dependiendo de la situación, también son
deseables otras estructuras de control que no dependan de
una sola entidad para determinar los puntos de ajuste.
A la larga, las aplicaciones del ADMS pueden beneficiarse de la adopción de estructuras distribuidas o descentralizadas al hacer posible que las FED y los activos de red
(comúnmente conocidos como agentes) determinen sus propios puntos de ajuste en función de la información que tienen localmente. En esencia, estas estructuras aprovechan la
potencia de procesamiento de muchos agentes para determinar los puntos de ajuste. Al mismo tiempo, debido a que cada
agente solo tiene acceso a información limitada sobre toda
la red, normalmente se requiere un proceso iterativo para
determinar los puntos de ajuste óptimos. Se puede esperar
cierto impacto en el rendimiento general.
La definición exacta de estas estructuras de control puede
variar, como se muestra en la literatura disponible. Un factor
de diferenciación típico es si la información se intercambia
entre participantes. En una estructura distribuida, la información local puede ser compartida con los participantes vecinos.
