servicios públicos. En conjunto, y
con algunas fuentes de capacidad
flexible que suministran energía
cuando se necesita, el modelo
prevé que estas fuentes proporcionen
una cartera confiable, eficiente
y limpia.
El modelo construye una transmisión
que permite una dispersión
eficiente de las fuentes de bajo
costo a través de un gran mercado
de clientes. Así se reduce el
carácter sistémico de la volatilidad
de la oferta y la demanda. Esto
funciona incluso cuando las FED
están presentes porque estas fuentes
compiten con la volatilidad de
la oferta. En la figura 3 se muestra
la capacidad de generación instalada
en los dos estudios, lo que
indica un aumento de la energía
renovable variable a lo largo del
tiempo. Al comparar la figura 2
con la figura 3 se observa que, a
medida que aumentan los niveles
de energía renovable variable, el
modelo construye una transmisión
significativa para mantener la confiabilidad
y reducir los costos.

inversiones son probablemente
