Antlers, Sheds and Habitat
Our  Food  &  Cover  Corps  crews 
found more shed antlers from mature 
bucks the past two winters while doing 
habitat  improvement  cuts  on  Game 
Lands than they ever had before. The 
same happened with many other crews 
working in the back woods on national 
forest  and  private  timber  lands.  This 
is  evidence  that  habitat  is  better  in 
many locations. It is also evidence that 
hunting pressure is low in some areas, 
allowing  many  nice  bucks  to  survive
