2016 Wildlife Conservation Officer Deputy of the Year D EPUTY WILDLIFE CONSERVATION OFFICER Gregory Ditmore has been selected as the 2016 Deputy of the Year for the Southwest Region. During 2016, Greg worked nearly 400 hours despite holding down his fulltime job and family responsibilities. He has demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment, dedication and professionalism with his deputy duties. Greg exhibits a no-nonsense approach to law enforcement and consistently is able to effectively follow through with a lead or investigation. He routinely takes his vacation from his job to patrol during the busy deer seasons. He also spends a lot of time patrolling and enforcing regulations at the State Game Lands 203 shooting ranges in Allegheny County, which are some of the busiest ranges in the state. Greg and I have been involved with several law-enforcement encounters that had the potential to become dangerous. Greg always has my back and is one of the best cover officers with whom I've ever worked. Greg always tries to improve as an officer. He attends all of the required deputy training classes, and often attends optional training sessions. Greg enjoys his role as a Hunter-Trapper Education instructor, and has either taught or assisted with a significant number of the classes held in my Allegheny County district. He also helps out with sportsmen's club meetings, sports shows and school programs. He consistently demonstrates a teamwork attitude in every way he can. Greg always has encouraged and motivated new deputies in my district, and throughout the Southwest Region. He exemplifies what a Game Commission deputy should be.
