2016 Wildlife Conservation Officer Deputy of the Year D EPUTY JAMES HEISER has been with the Game Commission since 1989 and is an asset to my Lehigh County district, and other districts throughout the Commonwealth because of his many years of experience. Jim is nearing the mandatory 70-year-old retirement age, and he is truly deserving of the deputy of the year honor for the Southeast Region. Jim works year-round and not just during the hunting seasons. He is very reliable and capable of performing his duties with little supervision. Jim takes case investigations from start to finish, without leaving anything to chance. Jim takes an active role in Hunter-Trapper Education courses. He works well with the instructors and goes out of his way to make sure all students understand the curriculum. Jim is a very likable person who effectively speaks with and encourages students. He also does a great job representing the Game Commission at outdoor shows and sportsmen's clubs. Jim has excelled in firearms and self-defense training. He maintains good relations with landowners who open their properties to hunters, and he keeps other district officers abreast of any changes in land ownership. Jim's appearance, performance and professionalism are nothing short of exemplary. No one is more dedicated to the agency than Deputy Jim Heiser. For these reasons and more, I proudly proclaim him the 2016 deputy of the year for the Southeast Region.
