The Board of Game Commissioners in September gave final approval to a measure allowing night-vision for furbearer hunting, and the regulation might have taken effect by now. The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners in September gave final approval to a regulatory change that will allow handheld and sporting-arm mounted night-vision and infrared (thermal) optics to be used while hunting furbearers. While the change would not become effective until the regulation was reviewed and published in the Pennsylvania Manual, it was anticipated hunting furbearers with these devices would be permitted DECEMBER 2020 sometime in November. The ability for the Game Commission to regulate night-vision and infrared (thermal) optics was authorized earlier this year through the passage of state House Bill 1188.
