WILDLIFE IN THE SUBURBS OVER QUARANTINE BY TRAVIS LAU N OT LONG AFTER Pennsylvania's first stay-at-home orders were issued last March, I began to get questions about how people's changing behavior was affecting wildlife. There had been some national news stories about critters pushing deeper into suddenly-less-bustling cities, and a perception wildlife was popping up around homes more often, and folks wanted to know if the Game Commission had seen either. Pennsylvania's a big state, and I spend most of my workday behind a desk, so I always need help with questions like these. A few times over the next few months, in response to such inquiries, I queried Game Commission field staff to see if there was anything to the notion that wildlife was changing its habits.
