He says these medals gave him the confidence that he could do “cool” projects independently of his father John, who founded Ross Video Ltd. in 1974. As part of a science fair project in 1981 – when Ross was in 10th grade – he built a computer program that could reproduce an image of the Space Shuttle in 3-D with two polarized computer monitors and a half-silvered mirror, a method similar to what is now used today for 3-D computers.
