The three-unit Hot Italian is the first
pizzeria in the country to receive the REAL
Certified Food award from the United
States Healthful Food Council for its
commitment to setting new standards for
food and responsible practices. Its pizza
dough is made with an organic, non-GMO
pizza flour created by co-founder Fabrizio
Cercatore. Pizzas are Neapolitan style with
California and Italian ingredients and each
pizza is named after a "hot" Italian, like
soccer superstar Fabio Cannavaro. (His
pizza is a classic Margherita.) The Pantani
features bresaola, arugula, mozzarella and
shaved grana padano ($18.50). The Arcuri
is topped with zucchini, cherry tomatoes,
goat cheese and mozzarella ($16).

The five-unit pizzeria serves up three
Windy City pies -- thin, deep dish and
stuffed, as well as salads and wings.
Salads are traditional and seasonal. The
Grilled Pear salad has goat cheese, candied walnuts and a balsamic vinaigrette.
A fiery favorite pizza is the Great Chicago
Fire with hot Italian sausage, juicy Italian
beef, Giardiniara peppers and a habanero
drizzle. The bar menu features creative
craft cocktails like the Chicago Linen with
Bulleit bourbon, St. Germain, cucumber,
lemon juice and ginger ale. The pizzeria
offers an extensive beer and wine list and
a Chicago Fire exclusively brewed beer, the
Stockyard Red Ale.

boasts a chef-driven menu focused on local
ingredients. Antipasto like the Frito Misto
($13) and Baked Polenta & Meatballs ($9)
have garnered high praise in the area.

vegetables, anchovies, chickpeas, lemon
