Desert Delights

In Phoenix, the Desert Botanical
Gardens and the Heard Museum
of Native Cultures and Art team up
to offer a Native Cultures & Plants
of the Southwest tour. This exploration begins with the diversity of
the Sonoran desert on a private
guided walk. The highlights? Native plants used for nourishment,
medicinal, and cultural purposes.
A docent-guided tour at the Heard
showcases Southwestern Native culture through works of art,
pottery, textiles, jewelry, and even a traditional Navajo home
and Pueblo oven. A boxed lunch at the gardens is included.

Heading to Chicago or Indianapolis?

This ABA member dairy farm is an agritourism standout on 30,000 acres. Hop
on a "cow bus" for a behind-the-scenes
tour that includes a state-of-the-art
milking parlor where 72 cows are milked
every eight minutes. If the time is right,
tours can visit the birthing barn to see
a calf wriggle to life. There's also a 4-D
movie, freshly churned ice cream, a gift
shop, a cheese factory, and a restaurant.

What the Dickens?!

A small-town holiday is celebrated in a big way in Cambridge,
Ohio. From November through mid-January, the town transforms itself into a Dickensian Victorian Village.
This public art exhibition features 88 classic scenes displayed throughout the historic downtown. "All of the 186
life-size characters in the scenes were created by local artists,"
says the town's group tour coordinator, Jonett Haberfield. "A
team of 350 volunteers works year-round to bring this event to
