With partner Alan Gingold, they own Lorenz Bus Service in Minneapolis, Minn. Suddenly the Canines' November weekend turned out to be anything but normal. When it rains it pours, and with that phone call the Canines learned that two of their charter coaches had been in an accident. Within 30 minutes, ABA's crisis management team contacted Lorenz. "ABA was the key. Its quick action and plan got us through this," recalls Trudy Canine. "When we joined ABA, we didn't do so for crisis communications benefits, but we are very grateful to ABA for its help." This wasn't just any fender bender. The event got nearly instant-and massive-national attention. Two buses had been ferrying the Washington Redskins football team to their afternoon game at the TCF Bank Stadium, and they had collided with each other on an I-94 exit ramp.
