❚ The National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering will present its Diversity
Vision Award to the 50K Coalition and its
Leadership Circle, which includes AISES
CEO Sarah EchoHawk, in October. A
collaborative effort by more than 40
organizations, the coalition focuses on a goal
of graduating more than 50,000 diverse
engineers by 2025, up from the current
30,000 new engineers who are women or
members of underrepresented minorities.
❚ Leona Anderson, senior human resources
generalist at The Boeing Company, has been
honored with the prestigious 2017 Women
of Color in STEM-Corporate Responsibility
Award. Anderson is a regular representative
at the National Conference and has worked
closely with AISES for many years to
advance the mission of increasing representation for indigenous people in STEM.

Summa cum laude graduate Sky
Wildcat is a new member of the
Northeastern State University Hall
of Fame, one of three inductees at
the 2017 ceremonies. Among her
several activities as an undergraduate, Wildcat twice served as
an officer in her AISES College
Chapter, and as 2016-2017 Miss
Cherokee she was an ambassador
for her tribe at many gatherings,
including Cherokee Days at the
National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
Wildcat is entering a master's
program at NSU.

❚ Sequoyah Fellow Chloe Blythe has been
named a fellow in the Jones-Bowman
Leadership Program of the Cherokee
Preservation Foundation. The goal of the
program is to develop future leaders within
the community, and fellowships
are awarded to both
undergraduate and
graduate students who
have been nominated
and have demonstrated a
desire to serve the
community. Blythe, a
student at Queens
University of
Charlotte in North
Carolina, serves
as Region 7
representative.
