Scholarship Winners
Announced

Five student members have been awarded scholarships from the
Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Foundation. The awards
provide $2,500 per academic year for up to four years to students who
live in one of the 13 states served by BNSF and who are pursuing a
degree in a STEM-related field. Award recipients, all currently college
freshmen, are Elizabeth Guerino, pre-nursing, California Baptist
University; Sofia Panarella, mathematics, Brown University; Mara
Lewis, education, California State University, Fresno; Alexis Newby,
exercise science, Hillsdale College; and Clifford Courvoisier,
neuroscience, Harvard University. For more information on the BNSF

Chapter News
The California State University, Sacramento
College Chapter will host a weekend start-up
competition April 21-22 to educate minorities about
the process of taking an idea and developing a
company. The event will include opportunities for
attendees to network with companies as well as work with
mentors on strategies for launching their businesses.
