Annual Disclosure

Providing annual disclosure to eligible participants

NoTE: A sample Annual Disclosure specific to your plan will be available starting in July 2012. We will send a Principal Message CenterSM message to the Primary Administrator on your plan to notify you when it has been posted to our secure website at principal.com. You’ll also be notified each time an updated Annual Disclosure is posted with current quarterly investment performance or because of changes to your plan, investment options or fee information.

AcTIoN: After your first sample Annual
Disclosure is posted under the employer login at principal.com, you will have until August 29, 2012, to let us know if you do not want to make the Annual Disclosure available online for your participants. If we do not hear from you, we will make the Annual Disclosure viewable to your participants on principal.com on August 30, 2012, and each time it is updated for quarterly investment information and for any plan, investment option or fee changes. You can change your election at any time online. IMPoRTANT: You should review the Annual Disclosure carefully to ensure you feel confident it meets the regulation’s requirements for your plan before providing it to your eligible participants. For example, if you have assets not recordkept by The Principal or pay third party administrator (TPA) fees from plan assets, these will not be included in the Annual Disclosure from The Principal, and you will need to consider how you will provide that additional information to your eligible participants. Please work with your TPA to discuss any additional disclosure that may be necessary.

before we can produce your sample Annual Disclosure, you will need to provide us with the following information:
