In 1993, an automobile accident resulted in a complete T5–6 spinal-cord injury, internal injuries, and loss of her right kidney. After several years, she discovered it was time to seek counseling for depression. She shares her story in “Putting on a Brave Face” (p. 20), part of this issue’s special section about depression and SCI.
