Halley Feiffer
completed her
second Broadway
stage stint on
January 29, 2017 with
the scheduled close
of the star-studded
revival of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's
1928 classic The Front Page. Feiffer played
Peggy Grant, fiancée of star reporter Hildy
Johnson (John Slattery of "Mad Men" and
much more) in this limited-run engagement
starring Nathan Lane. Feiffer previously
appeared on Broadway in 2011 in The House of
Blue Leaves for which she won a Theater
World Award. The actor and playwright has
performed in films and plays off-Broadway,
and teaches playwriting at NYU. Sara Gorman,
Ph.D., MPH published Denying to the Grave:
Why We Ignore the Facts That Will Save Us that
she co-authored with her father Dr. Jack
Gorman. Published by Oxford University Press
the book is about healthcare decision-making
and beliefs that run counter to scientific
evidence. The book will be covered in the
Bookshelf section of the next issue of Horace

Erin Schwartz Friedman and her husband Eric welcomed their son Ryan Hayes
Friedman on February 26, 2016 in New York.

became the proud parents of Leighton
Kaye Chesner. Their daughter was born on
July 28, 2016.

Lauren Moise Machinist and her husband
James Machinist were thrilled to welcome
their son Henry Thomas Machinist into the
world on August 18, 2016.

Dr. Samantha Do was married to Dr.
Clement Marshall on September 4, 2016, at
Brant Lake, N.Y. Wrote her father, HM Visual
Arts Department Chair Kim Do, "In attendance
were some of her cohort, from left, Ben
Bright-Fishbein, Nick Frisch, Garth SheldonCoulson, Samantha Do, Kim Do, (Papa), Seema
Kairam, Isabelle Smeall, and Mike Pareles."
(pictured here). Dr. Do is a Chief Resident in
Ob/Gyn at Stanford University Hospital, where
she will continue a specialty in Maternal Fetal
Medicine. Her husband, whom she met at
Columbia Medical School, is a surgeon resident and researcher, at Stanford.
Zoe Schwartz is Brand & Performance
Director at Tough Mudder, Inc. which hosts
a variety of mud and obstacle course runs
designed to test physical strength, stamina,
and mental grit while emphasizing teamwork,
camaraderie, and accomplishment. A former

HM runner Zoe is also an American Council on
Exercise (ACE) Certified Trainer.
Ariel Moses was married to Marshall
Weinstein on February 21, 2016 at Gotham Hall
in in New York City. Ariel is vice president of the
Hospitality and Lifestyle Division of LaFORCE,
a New York-based full service marketing
and communications agency. Marshall is the
founder and CEO of SET Artist Management, a
management and booking agency for DJs and
other performers, and also oversees music programming for the One Group, which provides
hospitality management services for hotels
and casinos. In June 2016 Moses was named
"Mover of the Week" by fashionweeklydaily.com
for her work as group supervisor of LaFORCE's
recently launched Hospitality and Lifestyle team.

Nessia Sloane Kushner and her husband
Taylor Kushner became the proud parents of
Jack M. Sloane Kushner on July 15, 2016.

Amanda Stoller Jatlow and Craig Jatlow
became the parents of Blake Jatlow on July 22,
2016 at 8:29 p.m.
Sam Kahn had a live reading of his play
Snowden Agonistes at The Playroom Theatre
in Manhattan on September 27, 2016. The
play is about Edward Snowden in the weeks
before he flies to Hong Kong and discloses NSA
surveillance. As Sam described his play, "At its
heart, the play is about spying on yourself; and
the urge that Snowden has (shared with his
friends and colleagues) to blow up his own life."
Logan Lowe was married to Samantha
Zins on December 10, 2016 in New York, with
several HM friends in attendance. Logan
included seven Horace Mann friends in his
groomsmen's party. Included in the photo are
Brad Tabak, Adam Parker, Zach Kurz, Brett
