Aerospace Standards Aerospace standards publication exceeded 700 new and revised documents, including the launch of three key Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) standards under the new IVHM Committee. SAE received its first tasking request for aerospace standards from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This is a further indication that SAE aerospace standards are increasingly becoming the defacto global standards. In addition, SAE received five requests from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to develop standards that address regulatory matters. 10 The Society obtained a contract from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to perform a study to reverse engineer Annex 10, Aeronautical Communications and transition it from a prescriptive to a performance-based standards model. SAE created a new value stream by providing program launch assistance and support to the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG), which works to develop understanding within the aerospace industry of environmental requirements faced by the world’s supply chain.
