Leading by deSign Collegiate design Series (CdS) popularly Strong 2012 program milestones • Successful sell out of six of nine CDS events, including Formula SAE at its new location in Lincoln, Nebraska. • 2,000 students participated in the 2012 FSAE Michigan and viewed an Electric Class demonstration to promote the inaugural FSAE Electric Class that will debut in 2013. • SAE AeroDesign participation increased and program expanded with micro and mission based advanced classes, thanks to support from Lockheed Martin. Program Revered by Students and Educators The popularity of the program continues to grow as evidenced by the growing number of teams and the growing size of participating teams. The interdisciplinary nature of the CDS program attracts students from varied academic fields of study – including, but not limited to, engineering, and students from both the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition, the program continues to be revered by faculty and administration alike. Of the 100 top engineer degree producing schools, as noted and ranked by the ASEE (American Society of Engineering Education) 92% percent have incorporated at least one CDS event into their curriculum.
