A Life Changing Experience
participants develop international
communication skills that some politicians could learn from and their friendships will last a

In January of 2014 a team of five Bradenton, Florida teens set out to conquer the world
with their uniquely designed 52-gram F1 racing car. The team calls themselves Slipstream
and the members are:
Merritt Kendzior, team manager and design engineer
Hannah Figueras, graphic designer
Madelyn Kumar, resource manager
Victoria Sinclair, graphic designer and manufacturing engineer
Domenic Aluise, design and manufacturing engineer
These students had some big shoes to fill following on the heels of Enigma Racing, another
Manatee County Florida team, who had taken 10th place at the World Finals and won best
overall verbal presentation. Team Slipstream, however, represented their hometown well by
sweeping the National Championship at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn,
Michigan in May. Slipstream also took contingency awards for "Best Engineered Car", "Best
Portfolio" and "Best Pit Display".
