SAE FOUNDATION HONORS INDUSTRY LEADERS
AT 2015 ANNUAL CELEBRATION EVENT
The 2015 Annual Celebration,
held at the historic Masonic
Temple in Detroit on May 19th,
was an enormous success. More
than 500 students, volunteers
and representatives from 89
companies came together to
honor the 2015 award winners
and celebrate the successes of
the past year. The commitment of
these individuals and companies
to fostering the next generation
of innovators through quality
STEM education, awards and
scholarships, raised $430,000.
These funds will support
our efforts to address the
STEM crisis by supporting the
systemic changes needed in our
communities and schools.
The highlight of the evening was
a speech by Industry Leadership
Award winner Sergio Marchionne,
Chief Executive Officer - Fiat
Chrysler Automobiles. Mr.

Marchionne was honored for his
extraordinary ability to not just
guide his own company, but to
also influence others. He was
recognized as a tireless, selfless,
and humble leader concerned
deeply about the betterment of
his company and the communities
in which they operate around the
world. These leadership qualities
are examples of what resonates
with young people and helps
get them excited and involved in
science, math and technical fields.

reception who truly enjoyed

had by all.
