Both gave brief presentations of their work. An extensive tour of the host institutes followed the awards, with buses bringing attendees to a large and still-developing research “colony” in the suburbs. Mini-buses then shuttled visitors between three modern facilities: the IKV (Institute for Plastics Research), the Fraunhofer IPT (Institute for Polymer Technology), and the RWTH ITA (Institute for Textile Technology). The Annual Day-long SAMPE Israel Conference...
a relatively new industrial and office development adjacent to Ben Gurion Airport. This is not in Tel Aviv, but is close enough to be convenient. A full program included papers on nanotubes and nanocomposites, new composites tooling technology, sandwich designs for effective production methods, ablative nano-filled PAN-Phenolic composites, progression in composite prepregs – AGATE, NCAMP and NADCAP, highly efficient processing of FRP sandwich structures using PMI foam core, effective permeability of dry fabrics during LCM processes, Hysol syntactic adhesives for structural applications, and lastly: Development of UAV Composite Propellers. The conference is in connection with AeroSpheres, Inc., and Ornigon. Sponsors were: Airtech, M.C.
