SUMMARY
This study demonstrated the successful high rate
manufacturing of thick organo-sheet using fixed
rollers double belt press. In order to overcome the
inferior ability for raising the material temperature
in double belt press, we have developed a novel
induction heating system for carbon fiber
reinforcements. The experiment showed that 28-ply
of carbon fiber fabrics could be heated up quickly
before press zones without relying on heat transfer.
Consequently, 6 mm thick CF/PA6 composite
laminate has been successfully fabricated at a
process velocity of 1 m/min, with ensuring good
impregnation quality of the composite.
