Keynote Speaker - Tuesday April 18, 2023
John Langford is the founder and CEO of
Electra.aero, a new company developing
hybrid electric aircraft for regional mobility.
He is a member of the National Academy
of Engineering and a past President of
the American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics (AIAA).
Langford is an aerospace entrepreneur who founded Aurora
Flight Sciences in 1989, Athena Technologies in 1998, and
Electra.aero in 2020. Aurora pioneered advanced robotic
aircraft, Athena developed advanced flight control solutions,
and Electra is developing sustainable aviation solutions for
regional mobility. Athena was sold to Rockwell Collins in 2008
and Aurora was sold to Boeing in 2017. Langford currently
serves as Chairman and CEO of Electra.
Awards Breakfast - Thursday April 20, 2023
Scott Berry oversees the flight test and
certification of a revolutionary new aircraft
being developed by Joby Aviation to
radically improve how people commute
in densely populated areas. Scott joined
Joby in 2015 and brings a wide range of
knowledge in the development of advanced
composite structures and fly-by-wire aircraft. Prior to joining
Joby, he spent 12 years in the Mojave desert at the General
Atomics R&D center where he oversaw the project engineering
and design engineering groups developing and flight testing
large unmanned aircraft. Scott has a Mechanical Engineering
degree from Cal Poly & is an active instrument & commercial
rated pilot in both rotorcraft & fixed wing aircraft.
