DUES FINANCIAL
HARDSHIP GRANTS
T
he SCVMA has developed a fund to
assist members facing significant
financial need to pay their dues.
SCVMA will provide emergency support
for established SCVMA members (members
for three years or more) experiencing
financial hardships. Each application
will be reviewed by the SCVMA Board
of Trustees and will be awarded based
on applicant qualifications and funding
availability.
Requirements of the program:
Financial Grants may not exceed 75% of
annual dues.
Dues grants are offered on a year-by-year
basis. They are not retroactive.
Members who receive dues grants will
not be permitted to count the waived/
free year toward Life Member status
unless they pay back the grant in full
Applicants must complete the SCVMA
Catastrophic Help Grant Application via
SurveyMonkey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MembershipDuesFinancialHardshipGrants.
Applicants
must respond to SCVMA via
return email within 72 hours of each
contact or the grant request will be
closed.
Applicants must provide requested
documentation regarding their financial
situation.
Each application will be reviewed by
the SCVMA Board of Trustees within 72
hours of application verification.
Grants are awarded based on applicant
qualifications and funding availability.
Grantees are responsible for any tax
that may be imposed by state or federal
agencies.

Congratulations to the incoming
SCVMA Board of Trustees and
officers.
One new member will join the
board - Dr. Karryssa Fenderson. The
new president, Dr. Karla Nichols,
expressed interest in staying on the
board and her petitions qualified her
for a second three-year term. No other
applications for her position were
received. Dr. Fenderson also submitted
a qualified petition.

2022 SCVMA
CELEBRATION
Right around the corner is our 2022
Celebration which will take place this
year at the Disney Grand Californian,
on Saturday evening, February 5.
The evening is a celebration of the
SCVMA as we recognize those who
have contributed and continue to contribute
to the success of the profession
through awards. Additionally, we honor
the chapter officers who volunteer their
time to organize our regional monthly
group meetings. Finally, the SCVMA
leadership - the Board of Trustees -
installs its new officers and remembers
the contributions of those who have
served organized veterinary medicine
for many years.
