Conti Symposium
Almost 300 attendees, almost equally split between DVMs and veterinary team
members, attended the ninth annual UCI Conti Symposium. Thank you to both
UCI and the Conti Foundation for making this happen
Both the DVM and RVT tracks fell under the umbrella title: " Current Concepts
and Controversies in Immunology and Disorders of the Immune System. "
Thank you to our organizers, Dr George Peavy, Dr. Michael Lappin and Allyne
Moon, and the speakers: Dr. Steven Dow, Dr. Michael Lappin, Theresa CosperRoberts,
Mandy Helton and Yvonne Brandenberg.
The planning for the 2023 10th Annual Conti Symposium is already in its formative
stages. Watch for updates.

The role of the SCVMA PAC is to
advocate for the veterinary profession
with local politicians - city council
members, board of supervisor members
and other political influencers at
the city and county level in Los Angeles
and Orange counties. It allows us
to be " at the table, instead of on the
menu. " (Thank you, Dr Sullivan).

SCVMA EDUCATION AND
SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
T
he SESF was created five years ago to help support the financial challenges
of veterinary and RVT students with a connection to Los Angeles and Orange
counties. Scholarships are presented annually to carefully chosen individuals
based on their local backgrounds and demonstration of leadership skills. Funding
for the foundation comes from tax-deductible contributions and fundraisers that
are conducted throughout the year.
