PULSEPOINTS News to Share JULY DOWNTOWN DOG RESCUE CLINIC Thanks to our amazing volunteer veterinary teams, 40 kittens & cats and 132 puppies & dogs were vaccinated at July's Downtown Dog wellness event! We appreciate the continued commitment to serving the otherwise underserved pet owners that Downtown Dog schedules for these monthly events. It may just be a few hours to you, but it's a LIFE to these grateful pet owners. Our next DDR Wellness Event will be on September 8. Two 2025 Open SCVMA Trustee Positions We have two positions on SCVMA's Board of Trustees opening in 2024, one in Region 1 (Los Angeles County) and one in Region 2 (Orange County). Dr. Karla Nichols (Region 2) will be completing her term of office and is ineligible for re-election. Dr. Tiffany Meyers (Region 1) was appointed to complete Dr. Karryssa Fenderson's term through the end of 2024. Dr. Meyers is eligible for re-election. To be a candidate for one of these positions, you must: * Be a voting member of the SCVMA. 4 * Have been a voting member for three years or more. * Reside or have your place of employment in Los Angeles or Orange counties and be affiliated with a chapter in Los Angeles or Orange counties. * Be willing to commit to a minimum of three years serving your community and your association. If you are interested, you must complete an SCVMA-approved petition by obtaining 10 signatures of SCVMA voting members in your region that includes the signature of one member of the current SCVMA Board of Trustees. Petitions are available by calling 714-821-7493 or at scvmainfo@scvma.org. You must send the original to the SCVMA at 5576 Corporate Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630.
