Make an Interstate Information Center your first stop in South Dakota! The Information Centers are filled with travel publications highlighting many attractions and tourism businesses across the state. From mid-May to mid-September, a crew of more than 70 travel counselors staffs the Interstate Information Centers. These counselors can answer your travel questions and assist you in planning your entire South Dakota vacation. Many of the Information Centers can be identified by large stone tipis in front of the building. Look for them or reference your South Dakota Highway Map and look for the “?” symbol. To add to your vacation, consider renting “South Dakota Stories,” a series of CDs that highlights South Dakota’s History, our Scenic Highways and Byways, our robust Native American Culture, and our Great Outdoors. Listen to these while driving around South Dakota, and experience some of these elements first hand. You can rent Travel CDs at any of the South Dakota Information Centers, or download the MP3 files to your mobile device from www.TravelSD.com.
