New Area Coordinator
Auburn University Housing
(AUH) is pleased to welcome
Allison Moran to the AUH family
as the Area Coordinator for
Village South. Allie graduated
from Eastern Illinois University
with a bachelor's in
communication studies and
a master's in college student affairs. She joined
the Auburn family in 2016 where she worked as
the coordinator of student conduct before joining
University Housing this spring.
Treasurer of ALAHO
Congratulations to Emily Scarpa
on being selected as treasurer
for the Alabama Association of
Housing Officers (ALAHO).
Emily has worked in housing for
eight years, starting as a Resident
Assistant and continued to serve
as a Graduate Area Coordinator
while pursuing her master's in the administration
of higher education. Auburn University Housing is
excited to support Emily in her new role and is looking
forward to seeing all that she accomplishes.
University of Montevallo
Savannah Crenshaw has recently
started her position as the
Residence Life Coordinator (RLC)
at The University of Montevallo.
Savannah is a graduate of the
University of Montevallo where
she served as both a Resident
Assistant (RA) and Residence Hall
Director (RHD).

The University of Alabama at Birmingham has been
ranked the top young university in the United States
for the second year in a row and No. 12 worldwide in
the 2019 Times Higher Education World University
Rankings. It is also among 51 public and private
universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation for
both "very high research activity" and "community
engagement." UAB attracts the best and brightest
students from Alabama, the nation, and more than 100
countries around the world. It boasts many nationally
ranked programs, including 13 graduate programs
ranked in the top 25, according to U.S. News &
World Report. In 2019, UAB set an enrollment record
for the fourth consecutive year, and reached a new
milestone - growing its student body to more than
22,000 students for the first time in its 50-year history,
including undergraduate, graduate, preprofessional
and post-doctoral students. Nearly 70 percent of the
student body attends the University full-time,
and more than 70 percent of the freshmen live on
campus. The Princeton Review has called UAB "a
truly great American melting pot of different cultures,
religions, and races," and UAB consistently ranks
among the top universities nationally for diversity.
Birmingham is the largest city in Alabama, with
an estimated population of 1.2 million, and UAB
contributes $7.15 billion in economic impact and is
Alabama's largest single employer.
