To improve support for students in crisis, it is important to:
1. Enhance training for all staff members on follow-up protocols, including what is and is not within their
scope of responsibilities.
2. Foster strong communication channels between departments to streamline care efforts.
3. Develop clear guidelines to address the intersection of legal, ethical, and caring responsibilities.
4. Increase campus-wide awareness of available resources and scope of services.
5. Implement technology-driven solutions to manage caseloads effectively.
Conclusion and Resources
The needs of students of concern continue to evolve, and we appreciate the many wonderful ideas shared
by our colleagues at our SEAHO 2024 roundtable. We are developing a toolkit of resources for supporting
students of concern and would love your thoughts on what would be most helpful. In its draft status, the toolkit
includes care and concern training resources, Maxient incident report layouts and letter templates, care and
concern process flowcharts, and more. If you are interested in accessing the toolkit or contributing materials,
