SEAHO Report - Spring 2024 - 17
Professional Development Committee
The SEAHO Professional Development Committee has started making some moves after the SEAHO 2024
Conference.
March Virtual Webinar
The committee hosted the Women in Leadership Virtual Webinar on March 28th
at 2 p.m. EST. There were
four wonderful panelists who shared their career trajectory in higher education. The panelists were Dr.
Stephanie Carter-Atkins (Wake Forest University), Dr. Dei Allard (Mississippi State University), Kaitlyn O'Keefe
(University of Georgia), and Liz Ingrao (University of Miami). There was an overall attendance of 37 people.
The panelists discussed the challenges they faced and/or overcame in relation to their identity and gave
advice about how to get involved in SEAHO. We really appreciate the panelists for taking time out of their
busy schedules to discuss their experiences as women in Higher Education during Women's History Month.

Program Committee
As we excitedly jump into preparing for SEAHO 2025, we would be remiss not to take a moment to
celebrate the SEAHO 2024 program offerings and those who made it possible. There were 161 presenters
sharing content in 114 sessions including SEAHO-U elements, roundtables, affinity and connection spaces,
and traditional program sessions with 980 program evaluations submitted (a 25.6% return rate). Thank you
to each of our presenters and moderators who helped with the facilitation of these sessions and especially to
the 2024 Program Committee who was able to make it happen under the leadership of Andrew Pasch!
Looking ahead, we were excited to have kicked off the 2025 cycle with our first meeting on Friday, April 5!
With subcommittee chairs and charges shared, we are excited to dive in as we prepare to launch program
proposals on June 10 with specific focus on the following tasks this quarter:
* Engaging the membership and reviewing the conference and needs assessment to determine topics
that are most needed and sometimes not represented in our program slates, particularly knowledge
areas outside of Residence Life or those that are faced by our HBCUs, HSIs, and Small Colleges and
Universities
* Promoting submissions on identified topics through outreach to SHOs and seeking nominations for
presenters to submit proposals
* Determining a SEAHO-U topic that is salient to our membership to allow for submissions to be
collected during the program proposal period
