Our residents continue to give
us invaluable feedback as to
what they're looking for in their
retirement lifestyle. The future of our community
will be shaped by that feedback as we continue to
listen, learn and work hard to make those retirement dreams come true.

The dynamic nature of The Villages
is a boon to our commercial development. We saw more commercial
activity in 2019 than 2018 which
included the arrival of a number of places for residents
to grab a bite such as Flying Biscuit, Piesanos, Chophouse, and Roberto's Ristorante & Pizzeria just to name
a few. Looking ahead to 2020 I expect things to be
even busier.
We currently have commercial space under construction throughout The Villages on CR 466, CR 466a, &
Hwy 44. The opening of the Brownwood Hotel & Spa,
Wolfgang Puck Kitchen and the Center for Advance
Healthcare will have a huge impact on the area. Also,
Magnolia Plaza has been rapidly taking shape behind
the scenes and will open with a lot of businesses ready
to serve our southernmost residents including a few
that are new to the community.

ACADEMY

The Enrichment Academy

The Enrichment Academy will focus
on reviewing and improving educational enrichment opportunities
through the voice of our residents - "Listening to what residents would
like to learn and see offered." The upcoming
year will include expanded outdoor offerings and workshops, adding another layer
to The Enrichment Academy program.
With courses underway and the speaker
series in full swing all year long, we look
forward to 2020 offering endless learning
opportunities for our community. Programming suggestions and feedback are encouraged
at TheEnrichmentAcademy@DistrictGov.org.
