In the couple's master bedroom, a set of wide
windows showcase the sun as it blooms from an
eastern exposure.
" When we come out of the bedroom in the
morning, I open the blinds and see my three sandhill
cranes that spend the night, " Cindy said. " This
morning, there was steam rising from the pond. "
Spellbound by the moody morning scene, Cindy
watched as the fog floated over the water, tinged gold
by the rising sun. " It was eerie, yet gorgeous, " she said.
Like rugged jewelry draped over the green expanse,
landscaping boulders are a highlight in the Village of
Fenney. This particular element brings a sense of home
to the Mays.
" We've been boulder collectors for years and years, "
Cindy said. " We're leaving behind many boulders in
our East Aurora house. There's no way we could bring
those here. "
Other charming elements make Florida life an easy
transition.

" These live oaks with the draping Spanish moss,
they're just gorgeous, " Cindy said. " We have our binoculars out and we're always watching wildlife. I like
the vegetation here and the Fenney Trail. We've photographed roseate spoonbills, turtles, herons, alligators. "
From the comfort of their lanai, Cindy and Jim
can see the place that now tops their list of perfect
hangouts: Ednas' on The Green, where they gather
with new friends and neighbors for taco truck dinners
and live music in the open air.
Looking forward to more adventures in the
community, the Mays plan to visit the archery range,
explore the area in their new golf car, enjoy games at
Fenney Putt and Play and watch pups romp at area
dog parks, along with the newest addition to their
family. Chloe is an adorable Maltese puppy - the last
piece of their dream-life puzzle.
" She'll be a significant part of our retired life, "
Cindy said, stroking the fuzzy little bundle in her lap.
