you're an adventurer,
you may want to pack up your
putter and take your best golf buddies on an all-inclusive day trip.
The Villages Travel and Tour offers
Doug Colson
trips to celebrated golf courses, tournaments and renowned clubs you never thought you
could visit.
"These trips are not designed to take away from
residents' current golfing experiences in The Villages,"
said Doug Colson, director of The Villages Travel and
Tour. "We just give them some variety - a change of
scenery and the opportunity to go somewhere they
wouldn't normally go."
One-day excursions include trips to private clubs
such as Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto and Alaqua
Country Club in Longwood. Colson said individuals are
encouraged to go, but discounts are available for groups
of four or more.

"What we have is an amenity for Villagers," Colson
said.
In partnership with Travel Leaders, the largest
consortium of travel worldwide, according to Colson,
The Villages Travel and Tour has technology and
buying power at its disposal.
"They were so intrigued to be in this market, to
be inside the walls of The Villages," Colson said of
his relationship with Travel Leaders. "These trips are
unique - from transportation to tour guides. There
are a lot of companies doing day trips, but we do them
differently."
Colson feels called to excellence because The Villages
is unlike any other place and residents are accustomed
to quality experiences.
"We're constantly looking for new bucket-list
adventures we can offer," he said.
As for the future of golf travel, Villagers can expect
to see more multi-day trips available in 2018.
"We've been listening to the feedback and
negotiating with exclusive clubs," Colson said.
With 648 holes of golf, and more coming soon in
The Villages, they want to be sure to make leaving
home worthwhile.
