The " time zone " strategy can help a player control his or her distances with all their wedges. 1 1 2A At set up, think of the ball being at 6 o'clock, the leading arm as the hour hand and your halfway back position as nine o'clock. During your backswing, stop your leading arm before it gets to 9 o'clock. Note how far the ball will carry. Next, on this backswing, move your leading arm 2B to or slightly above the 9 o'clock position and the ball should carry farther. Make a quick note as to how far both shots travel in the air. 3 To complete both shots, be sure to use your lower body and get to an almost full finish position. Remember, these shots are not power shots. A smooth and steady tempo is important. Your complete finish ensures that the club head has continued momentum through the impact area. 2A 2B 3 MAGAZINE 23
