"I was very passIonate about helpIng the kIds get to where they want to go In lIfe - hold them accountable In the classroom, promote wInnIng champIonshIps and the belIef In the abIlIty that you can." "As a basketball coach, (playing in the NCAA tournament) is the greatest pinnacle of success that you can be a part of," Inman said. "People are mad about winning. You go in the first round and you play Kentucky and you're thinking "Why did I do this?' Your kids and your teams get opportunities that they never get in their lives, playing in a national tournament." Inman ended his career as the winningest coach in OVC history, with eight OVC Coach of the Year titles, six OVC tournament championships and six NCAA tournament appearances. He also was inducted into the OVC Hall of Fame in 2009. While Inman is appreciative of the awards and milestones he achieved, it's easy to tell he is most proud of the academic and personal achievements of his players. "I'm like a proud pop standing back here saying, 'My girl did this. My girl did that,'" Inman said. "You know - how proud you are of what they accomplish." MAGAZINE 13
