his team will do whatever is needed to solve the
problem and make sure the golf car is ready to
be delivered to the customer.
"We do it all," he said. "From start to finish.
We do anything possible to keep our customers
happy, and sometimes that means going above
and beyond. That's what we do."
Along with building custom golf cars for
customers, the production facility reconditions
used golf cars, and it also customizes new golf
cars for many of the golf courses around The
Villages. When they receive the older golf cars
from the course, the facility reconditions the golf
cars and gets them showroom-ready once more.

are busier than others, Lape
says the facility stays consistently busy, and they
have had to get creative about where and how
they store all the parts and tools they need.
"(There were times where) we were having
trouble getting our fuel truck in and out of here
because we had golf cars everywhere," Lape
said.
Lape has been working for The Villages for
more than two decades, but he has only been
at The Villages Golf Cars production facility for
less than two years. He says that while working
there, he has gained a newfound respect and
appreciation for all of the hard work that goes
into building the many attractive golf cars you
see cruising the streets of The Villages.
"You never think about it," he explained.
"You don't really put much thought into how
many people have touched that golf car to make
that golf car as beautiful as it is. So, when you
get (to the production facility) and start seeing
it, it's mind blowing."
He and the rest of the crew at the production
facility do that work every day, making sure all
the golf cars the company sells or reconditions
are the absolute best they can be.
