Meet the Club Joe Santoro and Lindsay Collier, founders of The Acknowledging Acts of Kindness club AAOK CLUB Giving Kudos to Those Who Care STORY BY RICA KEENUM | PHOTOS BY ROB WILKERSON Kindness - is it a noun or a verb? Lindsay Collier calls it a way of life. But there's another aspect of kindness he'd like to emphasize: its contagious nature. Collier and friends have made it their mission to reward those who freely spread good will. " It's one of the greatest things you can do to promote a culture of kindness, " he said. In February 2019, Village of Bridgeport at Lake Miona resident Joe Santoro founded the Acknowledging Acts of Kindness Club (AAOK), along with Collier. 46 MARCH 2021 It came together on Valentine's Day, an appropriate coincidence for a club built on the premise of sharing one's heart. " Our aim is to cause a kindness epidemic, and to encourage Villagers to start similar clubs, " Collier said. A Village of Tall Trees resident, Collier is no stranger to service. Prior to retirement, he was a captain in the Army before becoming an engineer with a major corporation. But his penchant for positivity led to other roles: corporate trainer and keynote speaker.
