Now standing on the couple's spacious lanai
overlooking Alan's favorite golf course, he
gestures toward the landscape - a panoramic
postcard view of three golf holes, a sun-spattered
pond and various clusters of breeze-blown palms.
" It's one of the premier lots in The Villages, "
Alan said. " We're very, very happy here; we're in
the perfect spot. "
As proud grandparents, the couple relish
visits with their grandchildren, and vice versa.
" They love it here - all the summer camps
and everything, " Marcia said.
The kids also like hanging out on the couple's
lanai, where they watch golf cars weave down
the paths and golf clubs glint in the sun as
players take their shots.
" They like to say 'hi' to all the golfers, and
they always want to go out there, " Marcia said.
" Last year, I took them to golf on an executive
course for the first time, so now they
want to go on the big course. "
Throughout
the
years, Alan has
sampled every golf course in The
Villages, but has yet to visit Marsh View
Pitch & Putt in the southernmost region.

" We will, " he says. " It might be fun
the grandkids, and we've been on the
other side, over to Fenney and all over with
the grandchildren in our golf cart. We go
everywhere - had to change from gas to
electric golf carts so we can make it from one
end of The Villages to the other. "
And while stepping out is fun, Alan
and Marcia have another option for play
via their own putting course, which sits just
outside their lanai. Flagstones forge a path to
the little green zone, bordered by landscaping
rocks. Golfers can practice their short game
with visiting friends or grandkids - no tee
times required. It's just another piece of their
retirement paradise.
" We have our own little recreation area
- the swimming pool, the spa and the golf, "
Marcia said. " It's a vacation all year round. "

IN THE VILLAGES. WE'RE VERY,
VERY HAPPY HERE; WE'RE IN THE
PERFECT SPOT.
