Also on the pristine grounds of Sawgrass Grove, you'll find a diverse
smattering of entertainment options, a sports pool, tennis
courts, a pickleball complex, McGrady's Pub and kitchen, and areas to
play everything from horseshoe to cornhole in the sunny, open air.
" There's a lot of action happening outdoors - we see a lot of
swimmers and water walkers in the morning. The pickleball courts
are full and we have groups playing bocce and shuffleboard, " Whittaker
said.
Parked beside the Southern Oaks Golf Car Barn, is a charming box
car stage, a freight car for fun via live concerts and performances. Villagers
await a great lineup of local talent.
And for the sheer pleasure of putting, Clifton Cove offers 18 holes
for practicing a short game or gathering with friends to swing clubs in
leisurely fashion. Whittaker calls it " unique. "
" It's the second putting course we'll have in the Villages, and we'll
eventually open another one at First Responders, " Whittaker said.
" We're also the first recreation center to have nine pickleball courts. "
Ezell Recreation Complex is accessible by trails, whether on foot, bicycle
or golf car - making the journey there almost as fun as the time
spent inside or outside the center.
