OrganizatiOn
This organization provides educational
programs, support services and
assistance to caregivers, families and
people with Alzheimer's and other
forms of dementia. Volunteers are
needed to lead support groups and
help with the annual fundraising walk.

american cancer SOciety
Volunteers work directly with patients
to help them face cancer via the
Cancer Resource Room and as Road to
Recovery drivers. There are plenty
of fundraising opportunities, from
galas to marathons.

A mission of North Lake Presbyterian
Church that provides meals for people
who are unable to leave their homes.
Volunteers are needed to prepare
meals and serve as kitchen help,
dishwashers and cleanup crew.

SalvatiOn army
This organization provides food,
clothing, shelter, furniture, utility
assistance, transportation, feeding
and activities for the elderly. The
local chapter serves Lake and Sumter
counties. Volunteers are needed to help
in the Leesburg office, serve breakfast,
assist children and ring bells for the Red
Kettle program.

Provides transitional housing in
Belleview for homeless women and
children. Volunteers can work in the
thrift store, help with fundraisers
and assist with lawn work and light
maintenance.

This organization assembles meal
packs that are delivered for use by food
pantries, schools and shelters in the
tri-county area. Volunteers are needed
for assembly.

WildWOOd fOOd pantry
cOrnerStOne HOSpice
Hospice concentrates on meeting the
physical, social, emotional and spiritual
needs of its patients to bring comfort
and relief. Volunteers are needed in
wall capacities, such as office work,
life enrichment and pet help.

The pantry, a joint outreach ministry
of New Covenant United Methodist
Church in The Villages and Wildwood
United Methodist Church, supplies
food for families in need twice a
month. Volunteers help sort, organize,
conduct inventory and distribute food.

Promise Hospital provides
comprehensive acute-care services
including medicine, nursing, dialysis
and therapies. Volunteers are needed
for many positions, including
administrative functions.

SHine (Serving HealtH
inSurance needS Of elderS)
Working in conjunction with the
Wildwood Food Pantry, this soup
kitchen provides hot meals during the
week. Drivers for meal delivery and help
with cleanup are especially needed, as
well as on-call cooks and servers.

These unbiased Medicare specialists
go through extensive training from
Florida's Department of Elder Affairs to
counsel seniors about health insurance.
